The institute has been established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. AIIMS Jodhpur came into existence in 2012 by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). AIIMS Jodhpur is a government medical institute that has been established on the lines of the original All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. The institute offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to medical students. AIIMS Jodhpur is a premier institute that corrects regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country so as to achieve self-sufficiency in graduate, postgraduate and super-specialty medical teaching and training.
