Biology is the study of concepts of natural science of life and living organisms. It consists of the study of physical structure of a living organism, important molecular interactions, chemical processes, development and evolution. Studying biology as a science helps to understand human life.

Biology is an indispensable section as it is one of the most scoring subjects if the students plan their preparations wisely. The questions from biology are so comprehensive that a well-prepared student clears this section of NEET almost effortlessly. In all the pre-medical exams, Biology, being the highest score carrying subject, can assure you guaranteed rank if you have prepared well. Most of the questions of Biology are based on basic concepts of NCERT. As both zoology and botany carry equal marks, equal attention is to be paid on the preparation of both of these.

What do I do if I have questions about an assignment?
Online learning takes place in a virtual classroom, but the skills used to succeed in it are very similar to those needed for an on-campus class. Questions about assignments or any part of the class should be directed to the faculty or teaching assistant by phone. Extra classes are arranged especially for doubt sessions.
How much time will I spend in my virtual classroom?
You should plan to spend at least 5-6 hours in your virtual classroom.
How do I get homework assignments, tests, etc.?
Homework, tests, paper assignments, and more will be clearly communicated on the class website as well as directly by the professor.
Is NCERT enough for NEET biology ?
No. While NCERT certainly should be your priority for NEET, especially biology, it is not good enough if you aim for a good rank. 80-90% of questions usually are asked from the NCERT syllabus. But, for the remaining 10-20% questions asked outside NCERT, one must refer to other relevant sources as well. NCERT is good to qualify only. With NEET, now being the single level medical entrance test, merging AIIMS and JIPMER from NEET 2021 onwards, the competition is fiercer than ever.
How many chapters are there in biology for NEET?
38 chapters. NEET Biology syllabus has 10 units, which in turn have 38 chapters in total. 22 chapters are in class 11 NCERT syllabus and the remaining 16 chapters are covered in NCERT Class 12 syllabus.
How to prepare for the Biology section for NEET ?
We all know that the questions asked in NEET are from the syllabus of Class 11 and Class 12. But the distribution of the questions asked from the syllabus of Class 11 is different from those from Class 12. Around 40-42 questions in the examination will be from the syllabus of Class 11, which is roughly 45% of the NEET Biology section. The remaining 48-50 questions will be from the syllabus of Class 12. This information will be useful while preparing the timetable for preparation or revision. Student must pay equal attention on both the sections.
Can you tell the Preparation Strategy ?
When you start a new chapter in this section, read it from the NCERT book first. During the first reading, concentrate on understanding what has been given in the book. Do not underline or mark important points in the first reading.

During the second read, you can mark the important lines and points in the NCERT book. After reading a chapter for the second time you are quite confident about what you have read from the NCERT books. Now, refer to the supplementary material for NEET preparation. This can be a reference book, study material from your coaching institute or class notes. This is when you start making notes.

For Biology section of NEET, try taking the notes into your NCERT book itself. Sticking an extra page after every chapter or using stick-on slips can help solve the purpose. By doing this you will ensure that all the necessary information is there in the NCERT book which will ease the revision process for you. Also, reading each chapter 3-4 times will ensure that you remember most of it until the next revision.
