Chemistry is a sub discipline of science that deals with the study of matter and the substances that constitute it. It also deals with the properties of these substances and the reactions undergone by them to form new substances. Chemistry primarily focuses on atoms, ions, and molecules which, in turn, make up elements and compounds. These chemical species tend to interact with each other through chemical bonds. It is important to note that the interactions between matter and energy are also studied in the field of chemistry.

In class XI, students will understand the details of the topics whose basics they have already learnt in previous classes. It’s a new phase where you all will actually get into the real life practical uses and experiments of various phenomena related to chemistry. Students who aspire to become a doctor or an engineer in the future must take Class 11 chemistry seriously. The syllabus of CBSE Class 11 Chemistry is included in various popular competitive medical and engineering entrance examinations.

The study of chemistry spans the range from qualitative in focus to quantitative. Chemicals are everywhere and are everything. Anything you can touch or smell or see contains one or more chemicals.  It’s an experimental subject. Students have to observe things in order to understand the chemistry behind it. The key to score good in chemistry is your observations and understanding.

Why Dedicated Classes?

Dedicated Classes aims to change the way a student learns by personalized guidance and mentoring.

Chemistry is one of the most interesting branches of Science and it is given a lot of importance in NEET exam. NEET  Chemistry is the most important subject in the exam which is the easiest than the other two. Candidates should not avoid or neglect the subject as it is the infallible way to score good marks and securing a seat in the coveted Medical colleges.

Additionally, the questions asked in the NEET exams are also usually from moderate to difficult levels.

However, students can easily master Chemistry and solve problems easily. Dedicated Classes is the one stop solution for this problem. We have a strong team of experienced faculties having unique teaching techniques; especially concept based teaching techniques, which are easily understandable for a student. Our faculties are highly qualified and experienced and are trained in a manner that makes them favourite among students. Next, the study material of Dedicated Classes is designed very systematically by subject experts in a way that students need not to refer to any other material. Our study material covers all the topics including NCERT and relating NEET topics with numericals and questions given after explanation of each topic. Practice exercises are there inside the material. Our system is structured in a way that a student automatically fits in the routine that he/ she must follow regularly. Every kind of support is provided to a student whether it be technical, digital or moral support. On a whole, Dedicated Classes is a one stop solution for all the problems of students.

Is NCERT essential for NEET Chemistry?
Yes, it is a MUST. The NEET mostly follows the entire syllabus as per the NCERT textbook. You can rely on NCERT for good quality content without mistakes and even for problems. If one can solve the NCERT book problems with ease and can understand the principles, one just needs to focus on improving the speed of problem solving and that shall come only by practice.
Can you suggest some tips for preparing Chemistry?
On completing every chapter you should note down the conceptually weak topics.
List out the formulae you have learnt in the chapter.
On completing a topic, you should solve practice problems from many of the available books.
Note down the question numbers and source of all the challenging problems where you committed mistakes.
Must write minimum two tests for every chapter.
Solve previous years' NEET question papers. You can tick mark those questions that you find connected with other chapters also.
List out the reactions chapter-wise.
Use a pencil, erase and write the product at regular intervals.
Revise the reactions, recalling the mechanism.
You should practice some of the Conversions daily, writing reagents and products in detail.
Focus on subjective working, objectivity will come itself with greater perfection.
In organic chemistry interconnectivity of chapters is characteristically more prevailing, so chapter-wise NEET questions can be solved only when one is well through in general organic chemistry.
Prepare summary notes for representative elements and transition elements.
Prepare yourself important charts and tables in metallurgy and qualitative analysis. Paste that near your study table. Daily twice or thrice, even a casual look at that can keep you updated.
Can you give the names of important topics for NEET Chemistry?
Physical Chemistry:
a. Mole Concept: It is one of the most basic and very important concepts in physical chemistry and to develop a strong understanding of the entire unit you need to prepare well. Several questions in NEET Exams are asked from this unit but they could be solved easily if you have a firm command over the concepts.
b. Atomic Structure: Every year in NEET Exams, around 2 to 3 questions are generally asked from this unit and this unit does not have any direct correlation with the Mole Concept. The remaining topics like Electrochemistry, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Kinetics, etc. are essentially derived from the mole concepts and have nearly equal weightage.
2. Inorganic Chemistry:
All the topics included in Inorganic Chemistry are equally important. Therefore, don’t skip any topic from this unit as it is one of the high scoring subjects. Since there are various compounds and you need to study their methods of preparation, uses, chemical reactions, etc. So, it is better to have a proper analysis of all the topics included in NEET Syllabus from Inorganic Chemistry so that while preparing you won’t get diverted from the syllabus.
Several conceptual questions are asked from s, p, d and f-block elements thus, instead of memorizing it’s important to understand it through visualization so that certain complex properties and compositions could be understood easily. You could understand the reactions very easily if you have a good knowledge of periodic tables along with the trends in the properties of atoms like atomic radius, electron affinity, electronegativity, ionization and the electrode potential.
3. Organic Chemistry:
The entire portion of organic chemistry could be easily understood if you are well versed with the general topics in organic chemistry that includes nucleophiles, electrophiles, type of reactions, basicity, acidity, etc and the remaining portion of organic chemistry is just its application part. These topics are covered in the general organic chemistry part of the NEET syllabus.
a. Named Reactions: There are several standard named reactions in organic chemistry and you should know all these named reactions along with their mechanisms so that you could easily solve any similar type of problem asked in the question paper.
b. Organic Synthesis: It is one of the important and conceptual aspects of organic chemistry and every year in NEET Exams, around 2 to 3 questions are asked from this section that includes writing certain steps to synthesize any particular compound by the provided set of reagents with as little efforts as possible. Sometimes, you have to write the missing chemicals in any particular step of the synthesis. Therefore, it is very important to know some of the common chemical reactions.
What is the difficulty level of Chemistry in NEET exams?
The difficulty level of the questions in Chemistry is easier than the other two subjects i.e., Physics and Biology. That's why, Chemistry is the easiest part of the NEET Examination for many students.
Is Inorganic Chemistry more important for NEET?
Usually, the majority of questions are asked from this section. Candidates should have a good understanding of the concepts in organic chemistry. However, other parts like inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry are equally important. Students should have a good knowledge of all the parts. Sometimes the concepts are interrelated in chemistry.
What other study materials are helpful for NEET preparation?
Candidates can watch video lectures, read through notes, use e-books, practice using question papers and also attempt mock tests. These are all easily available and candidates should use them to study productively and boost their NEET preparation.
