Chemistry

Chemistry is the study of matter and its properties. It is how and why substances combine or separate to form other substances and how the substances interact with energy. The Subject primarily focuses on ions, atoms, and molecules which in turn forms elements and compounds. Chemical species interact with each other and often form chemical bonds. You will get to know the interactions between matter and energy in Chemistry. 

Class 8 Chemistry helps build a strong foundation for students in Chemistry. The chapter of Synthetic Fibres and Plastics explains the artificial synthetic fibres and the plastics. It also explains the characteristics of these and their uses in different materials. Students will learn about metals and non-metals, coal and petroleum as a non-renewable natural resource, ill- effects of fossil fuels, types of fuels we use at our homes, vehicles and factories. Thus, it will give detailed information about consuming flame and the consumption of fuel. Thus, it helps students in getting adequate knowledge about their concepts so they can use it in real life and senior classes.

What is chemistry?
Chemistry is a branch of Science that is related to the study of composition, structure, properties, reactions, synthesis, and uses of different materials in the day to day life.
What is the importance of studying chemistry?
Chemistry is an incredibly fascinating field of study. Because it is so fundamental to our world, chemistry plays a role in everyone's lives and touches almost every aspect of our existence in some way. Chemistry is essential for meeting our basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, health, energy, and clean air, water, and soil. Chemical technologies enrich our quality of life in numerous ways by providing new solutions to problems in health, materials, and energy usage. Thus, studying chemistry is useful in preparing us for the real world.
How is chemistry related to other branches of Science?
Chemistry is often referred to as the central science because it joins together physics and mathematics, biology and medicine, and the earth and environmental sciences. Knowledge of the nature of chemicals and chemical processes therefore provides insights into a variety of physical and biological phenomena. Knowing something about chemistry is worthwhile because it provides an excellent basis for understanding the physical universe we live in. For better or for worse, everything is chemical!
I find this subject difficult. Can you give me some tips to make the subject easier to learn?
You should pay attention to following things:

Why should an equation be balanced?
Balanced chemical equation has an equal number of atoms of different elements in the reactants and products. According to law of conservation of mass, matter can neither be created nor be destroyed in a chemical reaction.
Why does bee sting cause pain and irritation? Rubbing of baking soda on the sting area gives relief. How?
It is due to formic acid. Sodium hydrogencarbonate (Baking soda) neutralizes formic acid giving relief.
