One may find thousands of articles, videos, speeches and what not about the tips to enhance the academic performance. But the problem is that even after reading or listening to these articles, you may not be able to perform up to the mark! If you are also facing the same situation, go through this article once and I am sure you will be able to boost your performance!
The most important thing to gear up your performance is “LOVE” towards learning. If you don’t have love or interest in learning, scoring good marks becomes a tough task! When you start loving the subject, it is easier to understand and replicate in the exam paper. There are many ways in which you can increase the interest in the subject.
When you start loving the subjects you are learning, then the next task is to set up your priorities. Can you think of education as one of the optional tasks in one’s life? Obviously NO. Everyone knows that being educated is of utmost importance for one’s growth and development. There should be a clarity in what you are looking for in the future. Take the example of ARJUN. When the Pandavas were young, they trained under Drona, the master of combat. Drona wanted to test his pupils, so he stuck a toy bird in a tree and asked all of them to aim their bows at its eye. When he asked them what they could see, the Pandavas had different answers, such as the bird, the leaves, the tree, and so on, and missed. Only Arjuna, without missing a beat, said he could see nothing more than the eye of the bird. Pleased, Drona asked Arjuna to shoot. Arjuna’s arrow pierced the bird’s eye, perfectly. So what we learn here is that knowing exactly what we want and working towards it will help you achieve your goals!
Next important thing is “PLANNING”. A daily study routine helps in managing time well between studies and other tasks. Try to study at the same time every day. You train yourself to know, as soon as that hour strikes, to fall into that mode of focus required to do your best study. So it is advisable that you must plan your study hours giving equal time to all the subjects in the very beginning of the session!
REVISE REGULARLY! It is not feasible to revise the whole syllabus just prior to the exam. You need to track your progress regularly after finishing certain chapters. So that you can identify your weaknesses and strengths and rectify them for future preparation. It is very important to go through the material that you have learned earlier and also help in analyzing your preparation for better results. Make sure you put more effort into the topics that need more time for preparation. As someone has rightly said, “That’s the magic of revisions – every cut is necessary, and every cut hurts, but something new always grows.” As the saying goes, करत करत अभ्यास से जड्मुती होत सुजान | The more you practice, the better your results will be!
Never hesitate to ask for help! Seeking help from teachers or friends can help you in solving your problems. There are few students who hesitate to ask for help leading to a lot of confusion and poor performance in the exams. You should know to seek help when required as there should be clarity during the examination. But remember that you do not have to depend totally upon your teachers or friends. Try to solve the problem by yourself first and if still it is not solved, you can take the help!Test Yourself Regularly – Just studying for extended periods does not bring expected results. Make sure to evaluate your progress at regular intervals with the use of mock textbooks, quizzes or question solving, and re-calibrate your preparation strategy based on how you’re performing in different topics individually. The most basic testing mechanism in place is attempting previous years’ papers seriously and improving on your weak points. Attempting solved question papers and quizzes will provide you with instant results, which can be corrected then and there. Switch to testing yourself once you think you’ve read enough theory and are ready to attempt questions.
Avoid Last Minute Preparations- Sometimes most of the students assume that they can start preparing for the exam a few days before and score high ranks but in reality, it is quite challenging. It is not so easy to complete the whole syllabus along with revision tests in a short period of time. And when you are not able to do it leads to stress, tension and anxiety. But as the saying goes, अब पछताय क्या फायदा जब चिड़िया चुग गई खेत! So make sure that you revise on a regular basis. This habit has to be built over a period of time. It’s not a one day process. Proper planning has to be done much before so that you can prepare well for the exams without any tensions. You should learn to avoid last-minute preparations for the exam for better results. For this, you need proper planning and a scheduled timetable.
Consistency is key – It requires immense patience and consistency to attain mastery over subjects, and repetition is any aspirant’s best friend during this journey. Consistent revision of formulas, topics, important concepts, and questions is pivotal to ace the exams effortlessly. But make sure to be regular with it. Studying extra hours on a day and then missing sessions on other days, makes up for a procrastinating attitude and in turn, takes you away from a foolproof preparation time span.
So make sure you follow these suggestions and You’ve Got to be surrounded by people who will Motivate and encourage during this preparation. Make Certain That You provide your best during the groundwork and also stress less about the outcome.
