Established in 1958, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay was the first to have laid its foundation stone with assistance from UNESCO. In 1961, it was declared as an ‘Institute of National Importance’ by the Parliament of India. Over the years, the Institute has maintained to rank high across the categories of Engineering and Management.The Institute offers more than 70 courses at UG, PG and PhD level. These courses are primarily offered in the streams of Engineering, Technology, Science, Management and Design.
