Indian Institute of Technology Jammu is one of the newly established IIT. At present, IIT Jammu is functional from its temporary campus located in Paloura, Jammu. Academic courses at IIT Jammu follow the curriculum of IIT Delhi. IIT Jammu runs on the motto – Learn, Engage, Invent, and Create Impact. The primary objective of IIT Jammu is to explore high technology-driven solutions directed at solving regional problems. The faculty of IIT Jammu is highly qualified which believes in the holistic development of the students.

PLACEMENTS
IIT Jammu has a placement cell which offers training to students so that they are well prepared at the time of placements. The first batch of IIT Jammu is yet to graduate in 2020 due to which no placement records are available at the moment. However, the institute has well-established industry links that have offered summer internship opportunities to the students. Above 75% of the second year students of the first batch of IIT Jammu have done project-based internships and skill development programs in various renowned corporates and IITs which includes:- Actiknow Business Consultancy, Youstart Labs, Planify University of Bordeaux, France, ISI Kolkata, IIT Delhi, Hyderabad, Bombay, Madras, Gandhinagar, and Guwahati, CSIR-CMERI Durgapur, and MNIT Jaipur.
