Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology
Established in 1961 as a REC, SVNIT was granted deemed university status in 2002. SVNIT Surat was granted the status of the University of National Importance in 2007. The university is AICTE and UGC certified. There are six UG programs and eighteen Post Graduate (PG) programs in SVNIT Surat. SVNIT Surat ranked 61st in the NIRF Ranking for engineering colleges in India in 2018.

PLACEMENT
The placement cell of SVNIT Surat is one of the most active placement cells in Gujarat Technological Colleges. T 2017-2018 passing out year has seen the highest number of placements from SVNIT Gujarat in the institute’s history. SVNIT Surat has given placements to 622 students in the last record-breaking placement session held in 2017-2018. The companies visit SVNIT Surat for acquiring fresh and young talent for their organisation. The placement rates in SVNIT Surat range between 60% to 70%. In 2017-18, 500 B.Tech students were placed out of 725 total students in the B.Tech stream. 60% out of the total students placed received a lucrative pay package of up to Rs. 7 lakh. However, 13% of students who were exceptional in academics and are immensely talented were offered a pay package of up to Rs. 9 lakh per annum. The most eminent recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, Tata, Airtel, Samsung, HSBC, Wipro, Infosys and many more.
